NME Contents Page Analysis

I noticed that one image is soupier than the rest, maybe this is done because its article, story is an exclusive that the magazine want to portray in this issue of their magazine. It attracts and catches the eye of the audience even if you want to notice it or not because it is surrounded by smaller images. The image is a picture of the band leader from Kaiser Chiefs. They are a popular band and the audience is most likely to seek them in the magazine, perhaps this is why the magazine made the image big.

From the look of the content page I intend that the target audience is for the younger generation of indie rock fans. I noticed that the images are very typical of the genre and the colours are vibrant. It makes the magazine look like there have a lot to offer. I realised that the magazine used many images because the younger audience care more about the visuals more than text.

The content page is filled with many images of musical artists; the images will defiantly keep the audience interested. Every picture has a story or small article beside it or under it so that newer audiences will know whom that particular person or group is.

The style for the contents page is good and made easy to read for the audience. Also each section that is placed on the right hand side of the magazine all text different colours. The different colours catches the audiences eye and keep them interested. Each section title is big and bold so the audience will know which particular section it is. Its made bold so that the reader wont confuse it to be part of the original text and know that its an introduction to that section.

The subscription feature on the page helps promote the magazine NME. It helps persuade the audience to subscribe to their magazine. They placed the advertisement to promote themselves and their sales. And the fact that they included 20p for the first two months catches the audiences attention.

The logo of the magazine is seen at the top left of the contents page. It is not very big and seems it was reduced in order to make room the information.
